Health & Faith

I have an interest in Health and Faith, and the Scientific and Practical Links between them.  I have degrees or qualifications in Science, Theology, Public Health and Psychology.  I am President of the Guild of Health and St Raphael, working alongside the Patrons: Justin Welby the Archbishop of Canterbury and John Sentamu the Archbishop of York

In adition to to this site I edit the Catholics in Healthcare Blog.  You can also find resources aimed for Catholics working in Health and Social Care here and on Mental Health here.

I am the Vice Chair of the Health and Social Care Executive Group of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales and a member of the Advisory Council of FaithAction, the strategic multifaith partner of the Department of Health and Public Health England. FaithAction maintain a useful and important Faith and Health portal as part of their website.

I have a very strong interest in promoting good mental health, and among other projects with Public Health England, the National Co-ordinating Centre for Mental Health and various others was delighted to write about why I endorse and support the Mental Health Access Pack for faith communities.

I am also the sponsor of the Public Health England funded HIV and Faith project Positive Faith, led by Catholics for AIDS Prevention and Support. This project launches in October 2017.
